LIBRARY

Students using the library must have a specific assignment, such as choosing recreational reading materials, the pursuit of information, working on an individual or group projects, or assigned instruction for a class. The library is generally open Monday through Friday from 8:05 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Eating, drinking, and chewing gum will not be allowed in the library. This center is a place to read, browse for books, work on assignments or pursue knowledge. Students are expected to show courtesy and respect one another. The library will host various events throughout the year, such as our bookfair, lunchtime games, club meetings etc., where the same rules will apply.

Students coming to the library must have a specific assignment, such as:

  • Individual pursuit of information
  • Choosing recreational reading materials
  • Prescribed instruction
  • Checking out or returning textbooks
  • Assistance with technology and devices

 

CHECKING OUT LIBRARY BOOKS & DEVICES

Students may check out up to five library books at a time for ten school days with the option to renew. Students must return books promptly when due. Students may place holds on materials currently checked out or request titles not currently circulating in our library with the librarian.

At registration, each student will receive a device and charger to be kept throughout their time at Cerro Villa. These items are property of Orange USD and all users will follow the district guidelines and rules for the use of technology found in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Computers and chargers are available for daily use in the library and on campus. These computers will be checked out individually to students with the same rules and guidelines.

Printing is available in the library at our computer bank. Printing is 10 cents per page.

TEXTBOOKS

All books that are issued to students are the responsibility of the student. Students must see that these books are properly cared for and that precautions are taken to prevent their loss or damage by other students. Students will be held responsible for payment to cover lost or damaged books. A fine will be charged for writing in texts. Students must turn in all textbooks at the end of the school year.  Student who plan to withdraw from the school, must turn in all outstanding books and devices before they leave the school.
