Hello Cerro Villa Vikings!
I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Interim Principal of Cerro Villa, the middle school home of OUSD's Mandarin Dual Immersion Program. I am very proud of all the dedication and achievements by our students, staff, and families here. We have so many amazing programs to show you! This is my second year in OUSD serving as assistant principal of Cerro Villa last year. Prior to my transition to Orange Unified, I was an Assistant Principal for five years in the Fullerton Joint Unified High School District serving in different capacities at Buena Park and La Habra High Schools. Before my career in administration, I spent eight years as a middle, high school, and adult education teacher in the Los Angeles and Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School Districts. I received my bachelor's degree in Latin American and Latino Studies from UC Santa Cruz in 2005, received my teaching credential from Cal State Northridge in 2007, received my first master's degree in Education with a focus on Reading and Language Arts, and reading specialist credential, in 2012, and received another master's degree in Educational Leadership, and my administrative services credential, from Cal State Fullerton in 2015. I am currently in my last year of the doctorate program at Cal State Fullerton anticipating finishing in 2022. Outside of my career in education, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my husband and our two-year-old daughter. I am excited to serve the students and families of Cerro Villa and welcome you to stop in and say hello and take a tour with me anytime! I look forward to a year of collaboration and building relationships with you. Go Vikings!
