CALL IN YOUR ABSENCE:
If the student is absent, parents should call the Attendance Office (714) 997-6020 before 12 noon to explain the reason for the absence. Parents are requested to call each day of the student's absence. If you follow this procedure, it will not be necessary for the student to bring a note when he/she returns.
EXCUSED ABSENCES:
California law allows absences for illness, quarantine directed by a health office, medical, dental, optometric services, and for funeral services of a member of the student's immediate family. The school will always attempt to cooperate with families having emergency or unusual situations.
UNEXCUSED ABSENCES - IF YOU DON'T CALL IN YOUR ABSENCE:
It is the student's responsibility to bring a note verifying the absence within (3) days of returning to school. Not verifying the absence will make the absence a truancy.
MEDICAL ABSENCE:
A doctor's note is required when the student's absence is a result of any medical visit.
PICK UP A RE-ADMIT SLIP:
When the student returns back to school after ANY ABSENCE, he/she must report to the Attendance Window BEFORE SCHOOL to secure a re-admit slip. Students must have a re-admit slip BEFORE going to class. Students must pick up their re-admit slip NO LATER THAN 7:45 a.m. Failure to do so, will result in an unexcused tardy.
TARDIES:
Students who arrive tardy to school, MUST report to the Attendance Window in order to receive a pass to class. All tardies must have a note in order to clear the tardy.
CHECK WITH TEACHER :
When students are absent from school, they should check with their teacher for any assignments or projects missed during their absence.
REQUESTING HOMEWORK:
Parents have the option of requesting homework for absences of at least (3) consecutive days. Please call the office at (714) 997-6251 to request homework for pick up. Parents need to allow 24 hours to collect homework from teachers. Parents can pick up the requested work from the Attendance Office the day following the request.
