ABOUT CERRO VILLA
Established in 1965, Cerro Villa Middle School has a long standing tradition of excellence in the community. We are one of five middle schools in the Orange Unified School District located in the quiet residential community of Villa Park, in northeast Orange County. With nine feeder elementary schools, our population is around 750 7th and 8th grade students in recent years.
CV’s paraprofessionals, counselors, classified and nutritional staff, psychologist and nurse add positive support to the academic and social/emotional development of our students with their caring attitudes and selfless dedication. Our program is further strengthened by enthusiastic parental support in virtually every activity on campus including PFSO (Parent-Faculty-Staff-Organization), School Site Council/ELAC, Safe Schools’ meetings, Parent meetings, classroom assistance, dance chaperones, and fund-raising events.
In 2018 and again in 2021, Cerro Villa received both the California and National Schools to Watch Award. In 2017, Cerro Villa received the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation. We are proud to announce that we are the first WASC Accredited Comprehensive Public Middle School (Grades 7-8) in Orange County to receive such a prestigious award. In May 2015, Cerro Villa again demonstrated excellence by receiving the Gold Ribbon School Award, an award recognizing California schools that have made tremendous gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education for all students, including English learners. Cerro Villa is also a California Distinguished School.
Cerro Villa's student population comes primarily from the following feeder elementary schools: Fletcher Elementary, Linda Vista Elementary, Nohl Canyon Elementary, Olive Elementary, Serrano Elementary, Taft Elementary, and Villa Park Elementary.
